I used to wash daily too but as you stretch washes (with a mild shampoo) hair gets oily less fast. Less harsh dtergents = scalp produces less oil which it usually does to even out loss of oils. Washing makes the hair swell every time..it is damaging if done too often.

oh man, i wish i didnt have to wash my hair everyday, but i get downright gross if i dont..... im gonna check out the shampoo and conditioner tho. ive switched over to air drying since ive moved to texas and thats made a world of difference already.

I think its more about what I'm not using, and thats everything damaging. I don't style my hair just let it airdry after washing. It is naturally sleek, conditioner helps to keep hair from tangling and it can give it some moisture if its a good one. But there is nor product that can make hair sleek. Good care is your best bet, I use organic only (Earthly Delight Shampoo and conitioner at willner.com)
I leave in oil from day 3-7 after wash day...yes I only need to wash once a week ;)
