This is actually my Grandmothers gown from the early 40's! Lots of Lush tulle and sequins! I Wanted to dress it down a bit with some fun ankle wrap espradilles I happen to find in the same brilliant blue hue!

I agree about the shoes, and I just don't think there's a way to "dress down" something strapless, tulle-y and sequinned.
With pointy toed pumps, though, this picture would be fabulous.
