I can't believe summer is almost over. Does anyone shop end of summer sales? When do you start buying for fall clothing?

Because fall is my absolute favorite time of year I tend to avoid end of summer sales and already am looking ahead to fall fashion :) I've already started looking at fall clothes. I try to wait until things go on sale though. I look through all my magazines and pick a couple new items I'd like to add to my wardrobe. I go out and look and get ideas. Waiting until sales start is hard but I do not like to pay full price for anything. I also like to go to thrift stores (one of my fav things to do) armed with ideas and maybe my pictures I've torn out of magazines. It's amazing what you can find for a bargain at second-hand stores. One thing I keep an eye out for is belts-why pay full price when you can get a fabulous skinny patent belt at a thrift store for a fraction of the cost... Now is the time I also go through my closet and weed out the things I didn't wear last fall season.

What are your must have items for Fall? Do you ever splurge on something that catches your eye; perhaps something you didn't really plan on buying?

I was just wondering the same thing. What items do you already have planned to purchase for your fall wardrobe?

I'm looking for a couple fabulous sweaters. I want something that is eye-catching and has a "wow" factor. I love texture but avoid busy prints. I like to stay with solid colors in sweaters that still incorporate interest with texture and weave. I'm also looking for longer cardigan sweaters in brown and black. For me those will be frequent "go-tos" for Fall and Winter as I don't like to wear big coats when I'm out shopping. Who wants to lug around a coat in the mall when you have to carry shopping bags :) What about you?
