So does anyone have any trends that they are so over? I am really over those leggings and gladiator sandals. Anyone else?

What's your problem with leggings? I don't like the capri length, but full length is fine. Gladiator sandals are actually pretty cute if they're minimal. But this is my problem with trends: they move waaay to fast. What has stuck around too long for me are the absurdly large tops, and dresses that look like sacks. Seriously, get some shape to yourself.

Oy - sack dresses make zero sense to me. I'm ready for them to go too.

Leggings. Especially cropped leggings. Even worse are leggings under skirts. They look right on some people but eh, I'm well over them.

re: MrsRpd
I totally agree. SO many people wear leggings that don't flatter their figure. I just saw leggings for your arms, that is insane.

re: stef42678
Sooo...wouldn't they be called "armings"?...just sayin'...

re: Bimbi284
You have a point. I wasn't sure what they were called, but they did look funky.

re: MrsRpd
Ok, am I mistaking "leggings" for tights? Because I wear whatever you want to call them with all my skirts in the winter. How could you not? You'd freeze, not to mention no one wants to see my pale, scrawny, scarred up legs...hahaha. So...leggings are different from tights?

re: alyabonfiglio
lol Alya. Yes, leggings are different than tights. Tights are basically thicker, opaque nylons or pantyhose, while leggings are actually pants, just very tight and stretchy....they are thicker than tights, and don't have "feet"...although they do have footless tights now too...but yeah...

re: Bimbi284
I see. Leggings is meaning to be worn as their own piece and not, for example, with a skirt or dress. It's not nice looking.

re: alyabonfiglio
Well, for the most part, yes. However a lot of girls do wear leggings with dresses and skirts...not my cup of tea, but it works for some. I think they can work well with tunic tops or "dresses" that are really too short to be worn without anything underneath.
I am much more of a tights girl myself!

re: Bimbi284
I agree that they work well for some and they might be great for fall to wear a great dress.

re: stef42678
I don't really care for a lot of the pastel flowery prints that were popular again recently. Give me lots of color and punch!

re: stef42678
I gotta say, I'm still all about leggings with a dress. However, they are hot on their own as well -- if paired up with the right blouse and accessories!

re: stef42678
Oh, and I'm only into gladiator platforms. The flat look is a bit over -- even though they scream boho!

re: GoodGirlGoneShopping
I totally agree. I think leggings are great for making dresses wearable in the fall.

They are also sooooo comfy!

re: stef42678
I feel ya, but sometimes I'm so torn. I actually really dig Lindsay's style. I know -- it's been done!!!

re: stef42678

re: dazzlin
Yeah, me neither...she often looks a bit frumpy.

re: stef42678
I'm also the same chick who considers Mary-Kate Olsen a grungy glam god. I think the whole "I look like I haven't taken a shower but I'm rockin' Dior heels..." I'm sorta kidding, but really -- I just dig Lindsay's style. Maybe it's the "rocker" in me.

re: GoodGirlGoneShopping
I have to agree that sometimes celebs can rock the grunge look with a nice pair of boots or a rockin look.

re: GoodGirlGoneShopping
I am not fond of any look that requires the lack of bathing. I mean really, at the very least run a comb through your hair. If they look like they might smell bad, I'm just not digging it, I don't care who they are!

re: Bimbi284
I agree and like a clean cut look.

re: stef42678
Well, Bimbi, let me ask you: What do you think of Taylor's -- Rachel Zoe's assistant -- hair!?!?! ;)
I can't STAND it. She does look like she bathes, but the teasing is a bit annoying cause you can barely see her face.

re: GoodGirlGoneShopping
OMG I KNOW!!! She needs some SERIOUS deep conditioning. It looks so fried! Yeah, the teasing certainly doesn't help haha.

People that wear belts with everything. Like their t-shirts.
Posted 11/10/2008 at 11:53 AM
re: shopgurl
Hahaha...yeah. I like belted looks for the most part, but I agree that it gets old. There ARE other ways to accesorize...

re: shopgurl
I like belts..always have. But only if you're dressing up a bit. There is no need for a belt with a t-shirt.
