I'm getting frustrated lately because Ann Taylor Loft and Express are the only stores that make pants that fit me and are reasonably priced. However, they hardly ever have my size. I don't want to go through the hassle of ordering them though the store without trying them on, and I don't want to have to return them via snail mail in the event that they don't fit. I wear a 0 at ATL and a 0 or a 2 at Express. Does anyone else know where I can get pants of decent quality in this size for under $80? Thanks. :)

I totally feel your pain because I wear a size 0 and can never find anything. Shopping is so frustrating and I hate buying online because usually the pants don't fit right. I had really great luck at finding pants in small sizes (and cute fashions) at GAP and Victoria's Secret. Hope this helps!

re: katie8422
I'm completely with you guys...a size 0 is too big most of the time. Most of my friends just scream "shut up" when I complain, but it really is a problem. Express is all right, as you said, but I'm going to have to second Stef and recommend the Gap, and Victoria's Secret. Banana Republic is along the same lines of the Gap(obviously) but also(obviously) run a bit pricier.
So with you posing that, let me ask you this...how tall are you? Because I'm 5'8" and even when the pants fit waist/hip wise, the length is horrible. It's hard to find 0 long physically IN the store. The Gap, again, has saved me on some occasions. But I was wondering if either of you were in the same boat on THAT issue.

re: katie8422
I'm way short, so I sort of have the opposite of your problem alya. I am also a bit curvier at the hips, so sometimes I'll find something that fits around my booty, but leaves a gap on the waistline...WAY annoying! I actually recommend H&M as far as waist size goes. I find that a lot of their styles run smaller, so I am often buying size 4 there where I am a size 2 everywhere else (0 at Express). Its definitely a try-on situation because of this though. I have different pants from there that are different sizes, lol! You certainly can't beat the price either! Urban Outfitters may be a good place to try too, as some of the brands they carry, and their UO brand sometimes run a bit small.

Banana Republic and the GAP have some great pants for both going out and work. I try to shop the outlets for the cheaper prices.

re: katie8422
If you have an Anthropologie near you, they carry many brands that run small. A little pricey sometimes, but they do have great sales (and the tiny sizes are the ones that stick around!).

Yes! I can't believe I forgot about anthropologie! Good call blaze!

re: Bimbi284
Well you DID say Urban Outfitters, Bimbi, so I give you credit! They're the same company...

I haven't shopped anthropologie, but it sounds like a great place to check out. Thanks for the tip ladies!

re: katie8422
I finally found some on clearance at GAP last night for $36! I went through the entire mall looking for black pants and black heels. It's so hard to shop for basics sometimes, but I was successful in the end.
I'm skipping the Anthroplogie-priced pants because I think I need to gain back the muscle I lost during my six months of slothfulness. Once I get back to the gym, I'll be back at my normal weight, and normal pants will fit me! Until then, I'm probably going to wear my new black pants 3 days a week, ha ha. I made sure not to get cotton so they wouldn't fade with all the washing!
Alya, I'm 5'5". I need a long from Express, but usually not from anywhere else. In high school, I was 5'5" and ten pounds less, and I remember stretching all my jeans before hanging them to dry. I couldn't afford to lose a single inch in length!

re: katie8422
So glad you found a sale at The Gap. They are a great place for smaller pants and once I find the ones I like, I buy different colors. I am looking to stock up on jeans, cords and black pants for fall.

re: katie8422
Hard to shop for basics is an understatement. I know however easy I think it will be to find something, it's going to be that much harder. I might find black pants, but only in polyester and a skinny fit. Or I'll find white shirts, sure, but with some insane detail. I get unnecessarily frustrated and leave with NOTHING.
(But if I wanted to find a purple leapord print dress, I'd have ten to choose from. For some ungodly reason.)

re: alyabonfiglio
I can't tell you how many stores I have left in frustration because I can't find clothes that fit. I wish I could order online, but I always have to try the stuff on.

Sad, but so true.

re: alyabonfiglio
Seriously! The only basics I find an abundance of are black pants. Otherwise, it's really a hunt.

re: katie8422
oh my u found something at the gap?? I have the same issue. So I was curious to see what responses u would get, and it looks like u got a few suggestions that I am gonna go check out. Urban Outfitters is in a tredny little spot here in portland that is in the same area as Anthroplogie. My plan is to check out Anthroplogie, find my perfect size, and then shop for them online. with the upcomming holiday season I am hoping to find some deals there.

re: eboneyowens
Let me know what you find at Anthropologie, because I have never shopped there. I found cords in a size 0 at gap that were great so I bought a few colors for fall.

re: katie8422
Now I know I live in the middle of no where, because my eyes have never seen these places. They exist only as shops on the world wide web...a sad, sad realization.

re: alyabonfiglio
Sorry you can't find these places. I like buying clothes I see online, but I always have to try them on because they fit so different.

re: stef42678
Yeah, even when I read their sizing charts I go wrong. I've seen what works for me and I try to just stick with that. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?

re: alyabonfiglio
I totally agree. That is why when I finally find pants that fit, I stock up on the same style but different colors.

re: katie8422
new york & company is incredible with small sizing in work pants- and its cheaper than ann taylor and express- they dont usually run long since they have 3 lengths i work at a law firm and all my work pants and suits come from new york & company, plus regular price is about $50 and they always have sales on top of that. the limited is pretty good too- but their lengths are always too much for me and take a lot of effort to hem
i think i'm wearing some new york & company pants in one of my photos- i usually wear a size 2 and i'm 5'4

re: dazzlin
Thanks for the great tip Dazzlin. I'll have to check out New York and Company.

re: katie8422
I have to say that my favorite store for pants is Banana Republic. They cost a bit more but it's worth it.
