I love to wear sundresses in the summer and when I go out at night I usually pair the dress with some flip flops. Do you think this is too casual? Do most of you wear heels for a night out?

For myself, flip flop are too casual to go out at night. Even if I don't wear heels, I will wear a cute wedge. There are alot of new studies on the dangers af wearing flip flops (ie. lack of support, heel and ankle injuries) If you are tall and Don't need the height, there are alot of really cute flats out there. Try something a little fun!

Thanks for the style tip, I agree that flip flops dress down an outfit. I like your idea of cute wedges, those would be perfect with a sundress.

I agree flip flops its to casual for a night out...day time is fine.
Wear wedges, flats or peep toes with kitten heels if you dont want to wear high heels

Thanks for the advice. I am not really into high heels, so the wedges or flats are a great idea. What are kitten heels?

kitten heels are like regular heels, that they come in all different styles (open toes, pointy, rounded, etc.) but have a shorter heel in the back, unlike a pump. They are quite adorable. But I do suggest wedges if you don't do heels all the time, because they're super stable.

Oh I never knew what they were called, thanks so much for the style advice. I sometimes wear heels with a wide heel for more stability and height.

Do you wear flats and wedges in the winter or do you go for a warmer shoe after summer?

re: stef42678
I totally wear flats in the winter (I live in WI, so I know what a real winter is). I just make sure that they are durable and water resistant (I'll often waterproof them). I only have one pair of wedges (kind of got tired of the look after seeing so much of it), but I wear them often to work because they are really comfy.
Aside from that I'll do pumps (I'm more of a round toe sorta girl), and boots (both heeled and flat). No peep toes in the winter unfortunately cuz my little toesies would freeze!

re: stef42678
I do flats and wedges all year round (I'm in Florida) so snow or slush isn't an issue. I would suggest limiting the flip-flops because they are being found to create some leg and foot issues down the road. We don't want you hobbling!
